Award Application

To be eligible for nomination, a company must have been in operation in South Carolina for at least three years prior to May 1, 2009. Anyone may nominate a South Carolina manufacturer meeting this requirement, including company employees, community leaders, economic developers, Chamber of Commerce officials, customers, suppliers, friends and partners.  Award nomination submission deadline is February 27, 2009.

The selection committee will use the following criteria to select Silver Crescent Award winners:

Support of Education within the Community

  • Educational partnerships
  • Mentoring and apprenticeship programs
  • Career exploration programs
  • Programs for filling the pipeline (work force of tomorrow)
  • K-12, technical college and university initiatives

Commitment to Workforce

  • Employee education programs
  • Diversity awareness programs
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Employee assistance programs
  • Other programs that improve employees’ quality of life
Community Involvement
  • Community volunteer programs
  • Community environmental programs
  • Charitable contributions
  • Other community programs and partnerships
